Freestyle skier Sarah Burke died.

Freestyle skier Sarah Burke, who seriously injured last week to hit her head, is in the Hospital of Salt Lake City dies.

The Canadian skier came last week heavy fall during training in Utah. She came on her head and fell into a coma. There is no longer wakes up, reports her family. Burke is 29 years old.

Sarah Burke won the X Games four times, the main competition in the freestyle skiing. She was also the world champion in 2005 first half-pipe. As a specialist on the halfpipe she was tipped for Olympic gold at the games of 2014 in Sochi, the Russian.

De Canadese skiester kwam vorige week zwaar ten val tijdens de training in Utah. Ze kwam op haar hoofd terecht en raakte in een coma. Daaruit is ze niet meer ontwaakt, meldt haar familie. Burke is 29 jaar geworden.

Sarah Burke won de X Games vier keer, de belangrijkste competitie in het freestyleskiën. Ze was in 2005 ook de eerste wereldkampioene half-pipe. Als specialiste op de halfpipe werd ze getipt voor olympisch goud op de Spelen van 2014 in het Russische Sotchi.
